Day 1 – Arrival Kigali, Rwanda
Met on arrival in Kigali by Tanzania Oribi staff and transferred to the Kigali Serena Hotel for dinner and overnight. (D)

Day 2 – Kigali Sightseeing / Kinigi / Mountain Gorilla View Lodge
Morning sightseeing excursion of Kigali which includes a visit to the Genocide Museum. After lunch drive to Kinigi via Ruhengeri. Our two and a half hour drive will offer wonderful views of the “Land of a Thousand Hills”. Arriving at the base of the Sabyinyo Mountain, with excellent views of the Virunga Volcanoes, we check in to the Gorilla Mountain View Lodge for dinner and overnight. (BLD)

Day 3 –Volcanoes National Park / Gorilla Trek / Mountain Gorilla View Lodge / Kigali / Depart
After an early breakfast we travel a short distance to the park headquarters where we meet our local guides and gorilla trackers. (Porters can be hired to carry your gear on your trek) After an informative briefing on gorilla trekking we begin our trek into the forest to find where the gorillas were last seen the night before. From there we continue our trek. Gorilla Trekking can take from 1-6 hours and climb to altitudes not in excess of 7,500 feet. The terrain can be steep, uneven, slippery and muddy. We suggest one be in good physical condition to trek gorillas. Although the trek can be physically demanding, the scenery is spectacular. Once the gorillas are located, you will have a chance to spend one hour with them. This experience is one of the best natural history experiences on Earth.

After our trek, return to the Mountain Gorilla View Lodge for lunch. Travel to Kigali where you will enjoy dayrooms at the Kigali Serena Hotel until your early evening departure to the airport for your departing flight.

Please note: A second gorilla trekking day and hotel overnight can be added for an additional cost.

What’s included?
All pre departure information to prepare you for your safari; airfare from Serengeti to Kigali, transfers, all park fees, (1) gorilla trekking permit, flying doctors membership, transportation in 4×4 custom vehicles (7 maximum per vehicle), all accommodation and activities as per the itinerary and all meals as per the itinerary.
